Query used in Pamela Rasmussen's Michigan State University summer studies course in Madagascar, 2008 (Zoology 490, Overseas Study in Zoology, upper division students). In this query students test for the effect on lifespan of several natural history features: body size, degree of sociality, activity pattern (diurnal or nocturnal), and whether or not there are energy saving strategies (aestivation).
This query is appropriate for upper division evolution, zoology, mammalogy, or primatology courses. Or it can be modified to be used in other advanced zoology, evolution, or taxon-specific courses.
