This activity is inspired by Wooten's Body Mass and Metabolic Rate activity and Lindsay's Sociality and Habitat activity. It adds mammals to the latter, and concludes with a self-directed independent inquiry. There are instructions and a student worksheet. The activity was written by Professor Kurt Galbreath of Northern Michigan University.
